Direct-acting bypass valves maintain a constant pre-set inlet pressure. The spring in the valve holds the movable seat of the shutter in the normally closed position. If the inlet pressure becomes higher than the set one, the valve begins to open, increasing the flow rate, thereby reducing its inlet pressure. If the inlet pressure drops below the set value, the valve closes hermetically. If the valve is mounted on a branch from the tee, it can be used as a safety valve.
